-As the rainy season for 2017 draws to a close, the Namibia water utility says dams countrywide have on average twice the amount of water they had this time last year.

Namwater's, Water Treatment Specialist, Hendri Opperman, says Windhoek's water supply mostly comes from the Von Bach, Omatako, Swakoppoort- and Daan Viljoen dams - and these water sources contain no harmful elements, such as Cadium and Lead.

NamWater wants to replace old pipes that are restricting the supply of water to rural residents of northern Namibia. The water corporation's area manager Thomas Shiikwa made the observation during a media engagement session at Oshakati in the Oshana Region.
