Damaged cable leaves some Oshakati customers without internet

Telecom Namibia is working around the clock to fix the fibre optic cable which was cut by road contractors who are rehabilitating the Game Oshakati tarred road in the Oshana Region.
The cable was cut on Monday and was repaired but unfortunately got cut again the following day leaving more than 400 customers affected.
Customers affected are those at Game Shopping Complex, NBC, Namibia Breweries and Distell liquor outlet.
Residential areas such as Ekuku, Ehenye and Extension 16 were also left without internet and voice services.
Fibre optic cables are designed to transmit network for long distance, high performance data networking and telecommunications.
Telecom Senior Manager: Far North Business Area Junias Kalimbo says his company is apologising to the affected customers promising that the technicians are working around the clock to restore the affected services.
