A technician of the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) who allegedly stole laptops at the commission, has been arrested in Windhoek.
Namibian Police Force spokesperson, Chief Inspector Kauna Shikwambi has told NBC News that the man was arrested on suspicion of fraud and corruption.
Initial reports had indicated that the ECN technician had stolen six-laptops, which he attempted to sell to a local pawn shop.
The man went on a local radio station on Tuesday alleging that elections had been rigged, and he was trying to protect the election fraud information contained in the laptops.
He was arrested today and is due to be charged in the Windhoek Magistrate's court tomorrow morning.
