A 24-year-old Namibian woman was arrested on Tuesday at the Oshakati Intermediate Hospital where she was pretending to be a student doctor from Russia.
The Oshana Police opened a case of fraud and impersonating against her.
Oshakati State Hospital acting superintendent, Dr Fillip Nakangombe says the woman is alleged to have been at the hospital for four weeks saying she was a student doctor.
She was not.
He refuted allegations that she treated patients at the hospital as it is alleged in the public saying student doctors are not allowed to treat patients.
The suspect was identified by a person who accused her of having stolen her laptop in Windhoek.
During the confrontation, the police were called. It was then discovered that she was not a medical student.
She was arrested for fraud and impersonating and is expected to appear in the Oshakati Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
