Independent candidate promises potable water for Rundu Rural

Independent candidate Mbangu Nginga Paulus says once elected into power the issue of Rundu Rural Constituency residents drinking water from the river will become a thing of the past.
Paulus said this during his campaign rally at Mazana Village this afternoon.
He noted that the majority of the constituency's residents drink unhygienic water, which they collect from the river.
Paulus says he has a water strategy in place aimed at developing water infrastructure in the constituency for people to have clean water.
Further adding that he will also pursue the regional rural water supply to initiate community-based water management strategies and support water-based committees for the proper managing of those water points.
Besides, the independent candidate also vowed to improve rural development through the enhancement of agricultural production, information dissemination to rural communities, provision of community outreach programs, and also to prioritise developmental projects aimed at reducing unemployment in the area.
Paulus says he will consult the various stakeholders and residents to draft a road masterplan for the constituency.
He also vowed to advocate for the expansion of the telecommunication network to villages and establish a constituency internet gateway project.
Mazana Village forms part of the Rundu Rural Constituency and is situated 15km out of Rundu in the Kavango East region.
