MP Modestus Amutse commends role played by state-funded media

SWAPO Member of Parliament (MP) in the National Assembly Modestus Amutse has commended the role played by state-funded media in the dissemination of critical and relevant information to the public.
Amutse says despite limited financial resources, the Namibia Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) has evolved over the years in informing the nation.
While contributing to the debate on the ICT ministry's budget in the house today, Amutse is doubtful that the NBC will be able to meet of its planned revenue generation of N$110 million during this financial year which calls for more funds.
He pointed out inadequate funding as a common feature among all state-funded media houses, which hampers their effective service delivery.
Amutse adviced all Government funded entities to use financial resources at their disposal to achieve maximum results and serving the interests of the nation.
His fellow party member Kletus Karonda also welcomed the budget allocation and is adamant that all government programmes will continue to be delivered.
