The National Assembly is expected to adopt the Seed and Seed Varieties Bill, before going on recess after Thursday's session.
Retabling of the bill is due Thursday afternoon, after the House yesterday failed to pass the proposed legislation in full, due to disagreement among the MPs.
The bill seeks to regulate the production, registration and certification of seeds in the country.
Lawmakers from both sides of the House opposed certain clauses in the bill, arguing that they will disadvantage smallscale farmers, emerging retailers and importers.
MPs called for the reevaluation of those clauses in order to accommodate the interests of most Namibians, heavily dependent on subsistence farming.
The House decided to withhold certain provisions and allow Justice Minister Sackey Shanghala and experts from the Agriculture, Water and Forestry Ministry to include meaningful amendments.
