No arrests have yet been made after a raid on a church in Windhoek, following accusations of congregants being mistreated.
Sixteen people were allegedly forced to stay on the property over a prolonged period.
The majority of them were young people.
The police have started their investigation to establish whether there was any offence committed.
NamPol's Khomas Regional Commander Commissioner Sylvanus Nghishidimbwa says the investigation is still ongoing.
Commissioner Nghishidimbwa said all the people who were found at the church, have indicated their willingness to return to their homes.
The church remains open for worship and the pastor, for now, remains a free man.
Nghishidimbwa says all persons in the group were also taken to hospital for check-ups and no one has been admitted.
