One killed, one wounded and one escapes after trying to rob police officers

A sting operation by members of the Namibian Police today resulted in the fatal shooting of one man and the arrest of another, on charges of attempted robbery, in Windhoek's Northern Industrial area.
The suspected armed robbers attacked the undercover officers in an unmarked police vehicle, and the officers fired a warning shot to deter the suspects and disarm them but the suspects ignored the warning.
As a last resort, the officers fired shots where one was killed, one injured and the third escaped.
The injured (36) suspect has been taken to Katutura Hospital, in a stable condition.
The deceased is identified and was wanted for robbery with aggravating circumstances.
The public is warned to refrain from being at isolated places where they can be an easy target for robbers and to not try to apprehend the suspect as he is regarded as dangerous.
The Namibian Police are requesting anyone who has information that will lead to the arrest of the third suspect, to contact the nearest police station or Deputy Commissioner Agas on 0811242692.
