Opuwo Rural residents ask for Government services for their area

The residents of Opuwo Rural Constituency in the Kunene region want more Government and other basic services to brought to their area.
When NBC News visited Otuani on Saturday, the seat of the constituency, the community complained about the poor reception of both radio and cellphone services.
They say, despite an MTC tower have been erected at Otuani and which should serve as a host for both the NBC and MTC transmitters, network reception is still poor at this village and surrounding areas up to Ongango, which is just about 15km away.
They also called for the upgrading of road networks in the constituency and improved electricity supply to villages which they believe will improve their lives.
Some residents also complained about the drought relief food, which they say they have not received.
They also fear another drought.
Almost everyone in this constituency is registered to vote in the elections scheduled for Wednesday.
The community here say they will vote for a person who will address their needs and improve their living conditions.
ECN officials are also in the constituency issuing duplicates for damaged or lost voters' cards.
SWAPO, PDM, NUDO and IPC candidates are contesting for the councillor position in Opuwo Rural.
