Swapo electoral college starts in Windhoek

The meeting of the Swapo Party Electoral College started in Windhoek Saturday morning.
The gathering of about 250 delegates from all the 14 regions, party wings and affiliate umbrella union, the National Union of Namibian Workers (NUNW) are expected to elect members to represent the party in the next session of the National Assembly.
Party vice-president Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah appealed to the delegates to vote within the political and democratic realities without compromising on quality leadership.
Nandi-Ndaitwah urged unity within the party during and after the electoral college .
She urged those elected to the party and the nation with commitment and dedication.
The college will elect 96 candidates to the National Assembly during the upcoming presidential and national assembly election slated for November 27.
Founding President Sam Nujoma and former president Hifikepunye Pohamba and other party veterans are in attendance.
