Windhoek man to appear on suspicion of involvement in death of woman found in Ausspannplatz

A suspect in the murder of Cynthia Mashahu Mutayipula (25), who was found in Auspannplatz, last Sunday morning, and subsequently died in hospital, has been arrested yesterday.
Frans Nghituwamata Sakaria, a 32-year-old Namibian male, was turned in by his lawyer.
A friend of the suspect, who was with him in the car on that particular night, informed the police. It is alleged that the deceased jumped out of a moving vehicle during a misunderstanding between the suspect and the deceased.
Head of the Namibian Police Force’s Public Relations Unit, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi told the media that the suspect is expected to appear before Windhoek Magistrate's Court today.
The deceased was discovered by City Police officers last Sunday morning at 02h00 at Auspannplatz, opposite the Government flats, along Rehobother Street.
She was brought to the Windhoek Police Station. However, she collapsed and the police on duty alerted the ambulance service that transported her to Katutura State Hospital where she was admitted into the ICU.
She, however, died during the night of 6 February. After she died, the family asked for an investigation and a case was opened.
