Damian Stevens moves to Sharks

Namibian national scrum-half Damian Stevens traded in his Western Province outfit for a black and white Sharks jersey earlier this week.

Stevens, who was born and bred in the coastal town of Walvis Bay, started his rugby career at Walvis Bay High School and later played for Paul Roos after moving to South Africa in his final school years.

The 21-year-old scrum-half represented Namibia at last year’s Rugby World Cup in England and is currently part of the national squad competing for the Africa Cup.

He will be available for both the Shark’s under-21 side and as a back-up for the Currie Cup, as Cobus Reinach is injured.

Having already gotten six caps to date for the Namibian side, Stevens surely has a bright future ahead of him.
