The Namibian Rugby Union has lined up a double header of warm up matches for the Welvitchias and the U-20 teams at the Hage Geingob Stadium

The matches are in preparation for the Welwitschias’ participation in the SuperSport Rugby Challenge from 22 April 2017, and the Namibian Under 20 team’s participation in the Rugby Africa Barthes U20 Trophy in Madagascar as from 18 April.Speaking to NBC sport. The Chief Executive Officer of the NRU said that these matches are organised to check on the readiness of the squads
“It might be short notice but we have warm up matches for our teams next week at the Hage Geingob Stadium. Its free for the public and we are urging the public to come through and support.” Said Theron.

Both teams will play against invitational Namibian teams combined from players of all clubs in the NRU domestic league. The coaches for these teams will be Johan Diergaardt and Shawn Kaizemi, with Flip Louw as the team manager and Gerald Loubser as the invitational coach of the U23 team.

Kick-off will be at 18:00 for the U20 team and at 19:45 for the Windhoek Draught Welwitschias.
