Local boxer Wilbeforce Shihepo is expected to step into the ring this month against Callum Johnson of the United Kingdom.

After being absent from the ring for close to a year, Shihepo - who is also known as the Black Mamba - will travel to Manchester to compete for the vacant Commonwealth Title.

According to Shihepo's promoter Nestor Tobias, the fight is scheduled to take place on the 24th of this month and is being promoted by Matchroom Promotions, which is one of the most famous boxing promotion companies worldwide.

The 33-year-old Namibian boxer has a record of 34 fights, 28 wins, 8 losses and no draws.

His promoter and trainer Nestor Tobias said his boxer has what it takes to challenge Johnson who is currently un-beaten.

“Shihepo is an experienced fighter, but he will take no chances against Callum. We will go there to register a win, fighting outside the country is never easy but Shihepo has done in many times and we go and do Namibia proud” commented Nestor.

He comes into this fight with two consecutive wins and will be looking to add a lucrative Commonwealth title to his name.

Shihepo’s opponent, Callum also known as "The One" Johnson has a record of 15 fights with 15 straight wins.
