The COVID-19 pandemic has put unprecedented pressure on Africa's food security and cast dark shadows on existing inequalities and vulnerabilities of the continent.
The United Nations (UN) Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) Director-General says the pandemic has triggered unique challenges that require urgent action.
Qu Dongyu said this in a statement ahead of the 31st Session of FAO's Regional Conference for Africa being hosted by Zimbabwe.
