Mike Nghipunya arrested in connection with Fishrot

Suspended Fishcor chief executive officer (CEO) Mike Nghipunya was arrested on Monday in connection with the Fishrot bribery case.
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) chief public relations officer, Josefina Nghituwamata has confirmed the arrest.
He was suspended in December after information came to light that implicated him in the scandal involving several high profile politicians and businesses people and an Icelandic company, Samherji. He is the 10th person arrested in connection with the bribery scandal.
Nampol's Public relations officer, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi also confirmed to NBC News that Nghipunya joins
James Hatuikulipi, who was forced to step down from his position as Fishcor board chairperson, his cousin Tamson Hatuikulipi, former Justice Minister Sacky Shanghala, former Fisheries Minister Bernhard Esau, suspended Investec executive Ricardo Gustavo and Pius Mwatelulo.
Nghipunya will appear in the Windhoek Magistrate's Court tomorrow.
