NUST launches Employability Improvement Project

The Employability Improvement Project (EIP) will help students to develop skills to meet the demands of industries.
The project was launched at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), in the capital on Thursday.
It was officially signed between NUST and the Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA).
Speaking at the event, the Deputy Head of Mission to the Embassy of Japan, Rumiko Ishigami, said Japan is committed to provide technical assistance to Namibia.
Vice-Chancellor Tjama Tjivikua said only through work integrated learning will NUST be able to introduce students to working industries.
He said higher education has embarked on a new approach of providing knowledge, skills and promoting competition through innovation.
The first group of 20 students have already started with a three-week training programme.
