Pensioner strangled to death by unknown suspects at Swakopmund

An 82-year-old pensioner at Swakopmund was strangled to death by unknown suspects believed to have broken into her house.
Irene Lomeier, was found dead by her daughter this morning with multiple face and neck injuries.
Erongo Police said the victim was alone when the suspects broke into her Kramerdorf home.
Police believe that after the incident, the suspects ransacked Lomeier's bedroom and took jewellery, one brown ostrich bag containing personal belongings and unidentified items.
The value of the stolen items is not known at this stage.
It is reported that the daughter went to her mother's house on Tuesday, where she was contacted by an electrician who wanted to work on some plugs at her house, Monday.
The electrician allegedly knocked on the door and there was no answer.
The deceased's body has been taken to the Swakopmund State Hospital for postmortem and police investigation continues.
