Third NBC employee tests positive for COVID-19

The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) today announced that a third employee tested positive for COVID-19.
Stanley Similo, the Director General of the NBC on Sunday called for calm and informed staff that the "disinfection drive of the buildings has already commenced in full force and we shall be informed on progress by the office responsible. We should all times remember that your safety and well-being remain our number one priority."
The staff member, who was in self isolation from last Sunday, as a result of the possibility of having been in the company of a colleague who tested positive for the Coronavirus also tested positive.
The staff member didn’t feel well last Monday, went to the doctor and was tested. The results only came out on Saturday.
An employee who works in the corporation's newsroom in Windhoek tested positive last week. This caused the national broadcaster to send most journalists and crew working from the headquarters to self isolate and work from home.
Previously, an employee at the NBC's Swakopmund office tested positive, was quarantined and released after the mandatory 14-day period.
News operations have this week been performed by personnel from the regions, augmented by staff from other sections.
