Defending champions Cameroon started the 2019 African Cup of Nations on a high note, after beating Guinea Bissau by two goals to nil.
Meamwhile, Cameroon was evenly matched by Guinea Bissau at the Ismailia stadium.
The Indomitable Lions opened the scoring from a corner kick through Yaya Banana in the 66th minute.
Three minutes later Cameroon sealed their fate with another goal from Stephan Bohoken in the 69th minute.
The win means Cameroon now sit on top of the group F table after the other two teams in the same group Ghana and Benin played to a two all draw.
It was Benin who gave Ghana an early scare as Michael Pote opened the scoreline in the first two minutes of the game.
The black stars of Ghana then responded quickly when Andre Ayew equalized for his side.
It was Ghana who took the lead for the first time when Andre’s brother Jordan Ayew scored with three minutes of the first half remaining.
Pote was not done for Benin as he then scored his second goal of the game that secured Benin a draw against African powerhouse Ghana.
Next up, Cameroon will Ghana on 29th June 2019 in group F.
