NFA expelled NPL as members

The Namibia Football Association as was widely expected expelled the Namibia Premier League as a member on Saturday .
This is after the country's top flight football failed to comply with some directives from the mother body.
Speaking to nbc Sport Desk immediately after the conclusion of the NFA's 16th Extra-Ordinary Congress held at the Windhoek Palm Hotel, NFA President Ranga Haikali said the decision to get rid of the NPL as an affiliate member was taken after 19 delegates voted in favour of the expulsion with only two opposing.
A Disciplinary Committee that was established will deal with the expelled leadership of the NPL as stipulated in its functions.
The expulsion brought an end to the country's flagship league, which had functioned for the past 30 years.
The NFA will now facilitate the formation of a new elite league in the country by engaging all 16 former Premier League teams to be part of the new beginning.
